Reanna Durbin-Matrone Program Coordinator

Reanna joined the Healthy Neighborhood Project team in December 2021 after relocating to New Orleans from Madison, WI. Reanna received her B.A. in Psychology with a Political Science minor from St. Edwards University in Austin, TX (2019). While in Austin, she worked as an advocate for survivors of sexual assault, family violence and as a Clinical Care Counselor for youth in foster care. In 2021, Reanna completed her Master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from the La Follette School of Public Affairs, accompanied by a professional certificate in Prevention and Intervention Sciences. While in Graduate School, Reanna worked with Trans Law Help, a local legal aid clinic that assisted transgender and queer individuals with the legal name change process. During her Master's studies, she concentrated on interventions to improve health for youth and family systems through social policy. Reanna’s practicum focused on youth justice practices throughout Wisconsin, her team published Improving Outcomes in Wisconsin’s Youth Justice System Post-Pandemic: Fines, Fees, and Community Supervision. Reanna believes that research should reflect the needs of local communities and be utilized to directly impact social policy change.
